Tiffany’s Rock (DJ of a Morning Radio Show)

Tiffany needed some shots of her ring for her My Space Page. Since she works as a DJ, we thought we could play around with that concept for something fun- enjoy!

The Ring Shot (then and now)

I was at a very elaborate wedding recently. The bride hired me because she felt like my style matched what she was looking for (a mixture of documentary coverage with a spark of creativity to help set her wedding pictures apart from those of her relatives and friends). We got along great! I couldn’t quite figure out why she hired a fairly traditional video crew though (I’m guessing it was her parents choice). Not that there is anything wrong with traditional photographers or videographers, but it’s rare that a bride will choose both extremes when she chooses the visual artists of her day.

Right after the bride and groom cut the cake (unposed, very natural), the videographer turned to me and asked if I was ready for the “ring shot”. I smiled and let him know that I had already taken the rings around the venue for some cool shots (I set them on an old antique phone, on a funky vase, and on a stunning piece of furniture as well for some really unique shots). He looked at me curiously, then said “No, I mean the shot where you put her hand over his hand so that the rings show, like they are about to cut the cake”. I gracefully told him that he could set that up if he wished, then I carried on to do the job that I was hired to do- capture and create.

Modern Photographers and Modern Videographers (cinematographers) love to create great art work for our clients. The ring shot is just one example of this. The staff of Trash the Dress and Don’t Box Us In thought that a website showcasing some stunning “ring shots” would be a fun little project- so get ready to be Rocked! We hope you enjoy.
